• STARTALK-Endorsed Principles for Effective Teaching and Learning

Enhance interpersonal communication
Enhance interpretive communication
Enhance presentational communication
Enhance classroom interaction
Create a learner community
Enable flipped learning
Give feedback to students
Part II: July 30, 2018 - August 10, 2018
Two weeks of individual work-period to develop an online Korean teaching portfolio (All submitted works will receive feedback by the program director.)
By the end of the five-week program the participants will have:
• A thorough understanding of the STARTALK-Endorsed Principles for Effective Teaching and Learning and the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages
• A working knowledge in most up-to-date educational technologies
• Teaching materials that can be immediately used during the upcoming semester
• A solid support system within a community of fellow Korean language teachers
*Upon completion of the program, successful participants will receive 45 Professional Development Points from Boston University School of Education.
Application Deadline: May 21, 2018
(Applicants will be notified no later than May 31, 2018)
Eligibility
• Korean language teacher at K-16 institutions in the U.S.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
• At least one year of Korean teaching experience
• Basic competency in using the Internet and computer programs
Tuition: Free
